On November 25, U.S. federal authorities launched pepper balls and tear gas into a crowd of adults and children seeking asylum.
Right-wing media have jumped to border patrol agents’ defense by attempting to justify the use of tear gas on those fleeing violence in their home countries. In a particularly egregious take, a Fox & Friends guest downplayed the effects of pepper spray by arguing that it’s “literally water, pepper, with a small amount of alcohol for evaporation purposes. It’s natural. You could actually put it on your nachos and eat it.”
I sure wish they would try it ‘cause it’s gonna burn like hell coming out.
