Funny, I just saw one of those programmes on TV, like – “The 10 most catastrophic plane crashes” or something. You know what kind of programme I’m talking about. 

It was about a plane that started from Heathrow, and directly after take off, the engines started falling apart and losing parts and one caught on fire and the other stopped working, so the plane had to turn back and do an emergency landing (nobody got hurt), and the engine was still on fire and the whole Heathrow airport got shut down for the day……..

and then they showed the date: 23 May 2013

And I was like “wait a minute”.

Yeah, I checked. It was the “plane on fire” that prevented Tom from boarding his flight to Cannes. The incident that forced him to travel via land and ferry (”the booze cruise”) by night, “like a vampire”. 

Does anybody even remember this?

Omg….I remember that!!!! Wtf

Well, let me clarify. I remember Tom’s trains, sans plane automobile tale to Cannes. But I don’t remember seeing or hearing about that fire in the actual news back then or ever. Cray.

He tweeted about it himself. About how there were no flights out of Heathrow because there was an accident and a plane was on fire (a slight exaggeration 😆), how anything else from other airports was booked solid, how he couldn’t even get a ticket for the Eurostar. And he called the ferry a “booze cruise”, which I will never forget.

There is even a photo of him on the ferry that another passenger took, of him sitting at a table, headphones in, looking at his phone.

I don’t remember that photo? Or maybe I do and I’m just getting senile. LOL.
