So here’s the thing: if any of you have been following me for awhile, you probably know that I’m overweight. Fat, obese, chunky-dunk, whatever you want to call it. And I’ve tried EVERYTHING to lose the weight all my life, with varying degrees of success.
So, last year, around Christmas, my family lovingly told me that they were worried about me and something needed to change. After my initial hurt over this, I realized they were right. Luckily, I work for a world class medical organization and have kick-ass insurance.
So this is a long-winded way of saying that I’ll be having a form of gastric bypass surgery on December 6th. It’s called the “dueodenal switch” which is actually the most advanced version of the gastric bypass surgery options out there, and will involve both a resection of my stomach, as well as creating a new pathway directly to my small intestine, bypassing all of my large intestine all together.
This is super intense. I’ve been getting ready for this pretty much all year now. After the surgery, it’ll be a whole new ballgame. No more sugar. No to caffeine, alcohol, greasy foods. And not in just a “I’m on a diet now, I can’t except for special occasions.” I literally will not be able to have any of it. This is going to be interesting.
If you’re still reading, thank you. I’m going to try not to inundate this tumblr with this stuff. But I will be posting occasionally. Also, I consider quite a few of you friends, so I wanted to let you in on this. I hope you will be there to support me through the rest of this, I know there will be days ahead of me that I’m really going to need it.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time – I would actually love to see it remade with the original charm and innocence, not made into an updated sexed up version. With the right cast it could be a classic again! I vote for Hiddleston in the Danny Kaye role. Michael Buble would be a good choice – any ideas for the “sisters”?

Nice! Whenever either of us comes across it on tv, my sister and I start texting lines back and forth. It’s not as much fun as reenacting the dance routines like when we were little, but it’s fun. ❄❄❄
