It’s called Unconsenting Media

Oh my god, this is going on my list along with doesthedogdie.com

Holy shit that’s useful

I probably won’t find myself using this but for my followers: if you can’t handle this shit, USE THIS. If you think a movie or tv show may be hard to watch, do your homework.

did-you-kno:

In 1912, Teddy Roosevelt was shot just
before giving a speech. He began with:
“Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet
as possible. I don’t know whether you
fully understand that I have just been
shot; but it takes more than that to kill
a Bull Moose. Fortunately I had my
manuscript – I was going to make a long
speech – and there is where the bullet
went through, and it probably saved me
from it going into my heart. The bullet is
in me now, so that I cannot make a very
long speech, but I will try my best…” then
kept talking for 1.5 hours before finally
agreeing to seek medical attention.

the-night-manager-fans:

The Night Manager season 2: What’s the status on this MIA show?

In this edition of our month-long MIA Shows article series, we’re putting the focus on one in The Night Manager that
has certainly been in the ether for some time. The first season aired
all the way back in February 2016 and yet, there’s still no definite
word on if the Tom Hiddleston spy drama is coming back for more.

It
was a really long time ago that it was first reported that BBC and
co-producer AMC were considering the idea of bringing the series back.
Yet, that’s no easy task given that the John le Carre adaptation had a
pretty open-and-shut season 1. There’s no definite need to bring the
series back and yet nonetheless, it may be something that is still
considered.

Earlier this year, though, there was a rather-frank response given by Simon Cornwell, son of le Carre, in a new interview with Television magazine:

“Actually,
not being cute, I really don’t know … We don’t have scripts for it yet,
and we would only think about making a second series of The Night
Manager
if it was going to be really good. And I’m sure that Hugh
[Laurie] and Tom [Hiddleston] and Olivia [Colman], who are not exactly
underemployed actors, won’t want to come back unless it’s excellent,
frankly. And, you know, we have all of le Carré’s body of work to pick
from.”

Basically,
this means that there’s probably not going to be any in the near future
— especially given that Hiddleston has signed on to do an upcoming Thor [sic] limited series for the Disney+ streaming service. Meanwhile, Colman is playing Queen Elizabeth on The Crown through
season 4. Unless you make some enormous change with the cast, which
feels unlikely, it may be 2020 until people are even available to do it.
At that point, will there even be enough people who remember season 1
of The Night Manager for it to really even matter? We’re not
altogether sure that there will be. Of course, this is assuming that
some of these actors don’t end up getting booked for a number of other
things along the way.

So, for now, we’d say to throw this
particular show in the unlikely-to-come-back pile. Sometimes, it’s fine
for a limited series to be strictly that. Not every single show in the
known world needs to be come back and produced for many more seasons.
This was a great season in the time in which it was around but now, it
may be time for everyone to move forward and simply take on whatever is
coming next.

Of course, now that we’ve spelled all of that out, we’ll definitely have more on The Night Manager season 2 the moment that there are some further updates.

Tumblr bans all adult content, such as “female-presenting nipples”

mostlysignssomeportents:

Rob Beschizza:

Tumblr, the mainstream web’s last redoubt for niche smut, is going to clean house. The social blogging platform is banning all adult material on December 17.

Banned content includes photos, videos, and GIFs of human
genitalia, female-presenting nipples, and any media involving sex acts,
including illustrations. The exceptions include nude classical statues
and political protests that feature nudity. The new guidelines exclude
text, so erotica remains permitted. Illustrations and art that feature
nudity are still okay — so long as sex acts aren’t depicted — and so are
breast-feeding and after birth photos.
“Users have a chance to appeal flagged content”

The policy change takes effect on December 17th. From then on, any
explicit posts will be flagged and deleted by algorithms. For now,
Tumblr is emailing users who have posted adult content flagged by
algorithms and notifying that their content will soon be hidden from
view. Posts with porn content will be set to private, which will prevent
them from being reblogged or shared elsewhere in the Tumblr community.

Even the cold dead embrace of a Yahoo! acquision could not end
Tumblr, such was the power of fandom gathered there. But Yahoo never
knew what it owned in Tumblr and was indifferent to its continued
existence. The management of new Yahoo owner Verizon, however, has a
pulse. It knows what Tumblr is and it hates it. It will hack it down
until a perfectly clean advertising- and appstore-friendly traffic
center remains.

That phrase Tumblr uses, “female-presenting nipples”, is darkly comic
given the context of its ultra-woke audience. They didn’t give even the
slightest thought to what people other than lawyers and appstore
gatekeepers might think of it. In that sense, it seems to have a knowing
reactionary air about it. It’s a “go fuck yourself” so perfectly aimed
at Tumblr users it’s almost impossible to believe it isn’t intentional.

Tumblr “Find Me” Directory

gallusrostromegalus:

copperbadge:

A directory of social media handles so people can find you on other sites. Once you fill out the form (none of the questions are required so in theory you can just hit “submit” without answering anything, but you can also just View Here) you will be able to access, but not edit, a spreadsheet of everyone’s handles across their social media.

As the disclaimer banner says, EVERYTHING you enter into this form is made public so you know, be careful. If you don’t want two of your handles linked…don’t put ‘em both in there.

I can’t think of a genuine reason this would be a bad idea but it’s a lot of data about people and their personal names that’s easily scrapeable so you know, if you can argue that this is a really bad idea for X reason, I’m willing to listen and delete as necessary.

Well this wasn’t how I wanted to spend my Monday.

I’ll still be posting here but I don’t know how long this site is going to last tbh, and I’d still like to be able to contact all the friends I’ve made here.

GUYS – I just received the most precious gift in the mail and I gotta show it to you:

It’s a little crocheted Loki!!  The beautiful @prplprincez made it and it’s so cute I can’t stand it 😀  I think she sells these (and Captain America too I’m pretty sure) so if you looking for something handmade and gorgeous, maybe send her a message…she does beautiful work.  And now I have to keep stealing it back from Little because he spotted it the moment he woke up lol
